Is there a way to add an early rsvp option on our save the dates without it looking tacky?

I want to avoid have to purchase extra invitations so I thought maybe adding an early rsvp on our save the dates would help with that. The thing with that is, we want to avoid parents rsvping their children as well as they will not be added when we send out the invitations, ie. their invitation will read, “We have reserved 2 seats in your honor”. That which does not include their children that they tried to rsvp previously. Will this cause unwanted conflict? Help!

I just wouldn't send save the dates if you are wanting to save money.

We are doing the reserved seats as well to avoid guests arriving with a litter of children. MY FEAR is that "dad" can't go, so "mom" brings her bratty 4 year old in his place. I want to put "adults-only" on the details card but my mom shot that down. I would say just save yourself the trouble and don't bother with the early RSVP unless you label your envelopes specifically to those whom are invited instead of sending STD's to the entire "Smith Family." If you have your entire guest list on WW, if you add your website to your STD's, they can go online and RSVP there but only for who is added on the list. Joseph and Mary won't be able to RSVP their 19 kids and counting if said children are not on YOUR list Smiley smile Happy planning!

I agree… I’ve never heard of sending a save the date card to someone who is not invited :-). I recently saw an article someplace that gave instructions on Waze to add an RSVP to the save the date… I’m actually looking for it now which is how I ran across the string and conversation. We are having a small wedding and Quick turnaround from save the date to actual date :-) so, I want to find out who definitely won’t be able to attend because of the date so that I can then send a save the date to alternate people on our list.

Hi there! I love this idea and want to make sure I make a website (for my sisters wedding) where guests will have that pop up. Can you share with me what wedding website you used?

Our wedding website was included on the save the date, and I just added an RSVP option on the website. Some people have used it, some haven't. But then it's there as an option instead of a request!

I'm not getting married but planning my daughter's Sweet 16 and I have a B list which would be more of my daughter's friends.
