Is there a rule that the bride has to be on the left for the ceremony?

I was just thinking that at every wedding I've been to or seen on tv, that the bride always stands to the left of the groom. Is there a rule or something about this? I was just thinking that at every wedding I've been to or seen on tv, that the bride always stands to the left of the groom. Is there a rule or something about this? I'm just curious because I almost always sit and stand on my fiancé's right side. I'm legally blind in my right eye, so I'm much more comfortable being able to see him when he's next to me, without having to turn my entire head around. I'd definitely be more comfortable at the wedding if I can see him while we're getting married and having our pictures and stuff taken from my better side. I'm just somewhat self conscious about the way my right eye is a little bit sunken in and it pretty much always looks like I have a dark circle under my eye. So I'd really prefer pictures of our first kiss and all that be taken of my left side.

@Carole B.- Yeah, me too, I plan on a lot of untraditional at our wedding.

Lol, me and FH SO had this debate!! I always stand/walk on his right side, for some reason it's always been like that. The only man that really walked on my right is my father. Every time I think of it, a line in one of Nelly's songs comes to mind, "Stand on my left boo I know you aint right." Lmbo. In any case, I originally told FH I wanted to stand on on right during the ceremony, so that when we walk back down the aisle as man and wife, he'd be on my right. Future Hubby wasn't having it lol.
