Is there a rule of thumb on height for low and high centerpieces?

Michelle, on May 17, 2020 at 10:45 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 6
I pretty much settled on this DIY I did below but my mom kept mentioning to include some taller centerpiece. I’m thinking about adding taller centerpieces to fill our venue up more... it’s more of a lower ceiling than a high I would say. I ordered 19.5 inch vases from Amazon and my low flowers stands about 7 inches tall. Is there a certain rule of thumb to follow by for tall and low? I heard centerpieces should be taller than 20 to avoid view obstruction.

Here’s the tall vase.

I just wouldn’t get centerpieces that are too tall for people to have conversation

Wow those are nice vases but I do think that 20 inches is rather tall because that would kind of obstruct the view of the person across the table but if that’s your preference to have that look, honestly it’s ok

I just came across an article now that said under 24 inches or over 20 inches to not obstruct view. I bought one to see how it looks, I guess if it looks funny I’ll just stick with the lower ones.

I've always heard to keep centerpieces either under 14" tall or over 20" tall - so that your guests can still see and talk to each other!!

Make sure they do not block anyone's vision across the table. Keep the short centerpieces to 9" tall and the bottom of the tall centerpieces at about 25-30"
