Is there a reason we can’t delete posts on the forum?

I’ve noticed there is no way to delete posts. I’ve never seen a forum that does that. Is there a reason behind this?

One reason is that they don’t want people deleting posts in which the poster may have gotten solid advice but that didn’t align with what they wanted to hear. The advice could be beneficial to others in the future, even if it disagrees with the OP’s plan or opinion (often in regards to etiquette practices).
