Is the first one “the one”?

Hannah, on February 20, 2019 at 10:06 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14
Today I went to pick out my bridesmaids dresses so that they could go in whenever they had the time to try on a couple of options, and pick their favorite. I ended up also looking at options for me for the first time since we got engaged. My mom and I immediately gravitated toward it and thought it was beautiful. They even had my size! I tried to find other options I liked but none of the 4 others I picked came in my size. (Fate maybe? 😂) I decided to try it on anyway. I think it’s GORGEOUS! it has everything that I always thought I would want in a dress. Enough beading, but not too crazy. A fitted top with a sweetheart cut. Some sparkle in the skirt. My only worry is that it’s the only one I’ve tried on. I have an appointment to go back Friday to look at it agin and maybe make a decision. I can’t imagine wanting anything more from a dress! I know that lots of you guys have tried on so many and still haven’t found the one so it seems silly to be worried. Why am I so nervous?

Sometimes when you know you just know! That said I would go back and try on a few other dresses in different styles just to make sure it wasnt a case of its the only dress youve seen yourself in so you love it. Unless you are buying off the rack or at a consignment shop you can try on dresses not your size and have it ordered in your size if you buy it.

    Btw, it's a gorgeous dress!

I would go with your gut. If you look at yourself and can’t imagine wearing anything else, then go for it! Any doubts, then try on some more. Give yourself some time to think about it. I’ve been known to change my mind even when I was totally convinced I wouldn’t.

It’s beautiful! I agree, go with your gut feeling! Ironically, the dress that I said yes to was the first one I tried on. I instantly knew it was the one but I wanted it still try on others to see what my other options were. You’ll know when it’s the one! I don’t think there’s any harm in seeing your other dress options though but if you feel really strongly about this one, go for it!

I bought the first dress I tried on. I don’t regret it. It was in my price range and it sucked me in and pushed me up just the way I wanted. I knew it was the dress. If you aren’t sure you should try on more dresses. Remember they can be ordered in your size. The sample is usually a little stretched out so your dress may fit differently

When you know, you just know. I know I did, although it wasn't the first. I don't think there is any way to escape that "am I really sure" feeling though. I bought my dress in December and it should be in within the next month. I absolutely loved it and it was all I could think about when I had other dresses on but now that it's been a couple of months without seeing it I'm starting to worry that I won't feel the same way about it when it actually gets here. I know it's perfect, but there's just always that little nagging voice in the back of your head.

It’s fine to go with your gut, but if you’re asking this question, make sure you get into a couple more dresses just to shake that feeling . If you don’t, the question won’t go away and you’ll drive yourself crazy with what-ifs. Trying on other dresses may help you solidify the feeling of “it’s the one” when/if you’re comparing everything else to “your” dress Smiley winking

Sometimes the first one is just "the one." You shouldn't try to fight it, just go with the flow. If it makes you feel beautiful and bridal, go for it.

Having said that, I do think it's a good idea to try on a few others, just to be absolutely sure. But your description of it in your post gives me the impression that you are already in love with it, and no others will top it. Yay!!! Congratulations!!

I bought the first dress I tried on! I saw a picture of it and knew that it was the one. Trust your gut!

So I ended up trying on others and found the one!!! It’s a Stella York that made me cry and feel more beautiful than I ever have! I’m so glad I went with the stir in my gut and tried on a couple more! Thanks for all your advice!!
