Is my wedding dress too big?!

Jessica, on August 16, 2018 at 10:55 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7
So my wedding is quickly approaching in 1 day & 13 hours as wedding wire reminded me!
I picked up my dress from the alterations place last night with my mom & aunts.
as I was putting it on, I felt a little disappointed like it still felt big and I was wondering if she took it in again from last appointment as planned.
The alterations lady said it was perfect and my family thought it looked great but I would rather it be tighter.
They said it can’t be too tight and it’s not supposed to be.
any thoughts?
i know I am picky and it’s too late now but I love my dress and wanted it to be absolutely perfect.
Its an a-line with straps. How tight/loose is it supposed to fit?

I agree with the PP, post a picture and see what it's like when you sit in it. You want to be able to breathe also.

I would say, if it is a little loose fitting, I would be totally okay with it! Because you have to be comfortable moving around, sitting, dancing, and eating!!

I don’t want mine tight and not being able to eat that day without feeling like I want to explode out of my dress.

Embrace this girl. You are so close to getting married. It’s going to be great!! We are our own worst critics, if your family thinks you look great, trust them

I also wanted mine slightly tighter but the seamstress said, "Nooo you don't. It might feel loose to you but it looks perfect as it is and if I make it tighter, you'll not be able to sit comfortably." She said this before doing any alterations, so it's not like she was trying to say her work was already perfect lol, it was just honest advice from a professional. I'm choosing to take it!

Hi Jessica! Your dress sounds gorgeous, do you have a picture of you in it that we could see? I definitely think it's better for it to be on the looser side, that way you can move around easier in it and that it's not irritating your shoulders the day of! My mom has a rule about straps where the straps should lay on your shoulders and you should be able to stick a finger underneath it!

Looser is better because you will wear it for a whole day.

Did you try sitting in it? I agree with some of the other posters on here, looser is better because you don't want to be uncomfortable all day and possibly all night. You also want to breath.
