Is my dress the one?

Amy, on February 12, 2020 at 4:39 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9

Hi so here goes my dilemma, when I first got engaged I was super excited and couldn't wait to start planning, me and my mom made a trip to visit my grandmother and only aunt(her sister) well while we were there of course we made it a girls day and went to go try on dresses and a few of the first places we went were really kind of standoffish with helping me i'm assuming because of my size they said not much would fit me. i'm (5'2 210) and the dresses they did give me were really not my style

so the last place we went I found a really nice dress it was all lace sweetheart neckline mermaid dress and it looks beautiful and we all loved it (especially the fact that they were so helpful) and my aunt and mom agreed to help pay for it between the three of us we each put about $300

but now i'm second guessing if I jumped the gun on my dress, I have lost weight since then and I am hoping to continue to lose weight but I can't help but wonder if I should of chose something with more bling i do love mine but i also don't want to disappoint my mom and aunt has anyone else had these feelings or thoughts?

Personally I feel like it’s normal to second guess your dress, I do sometimes especially when I see dresses on Pinterest that look nothing like mine! But at the same time you shouldn’t keep it for the sake of upsetting your family, I’m sure they want you to love your dress! Maybe have a conversation with your mom about how you’re feeling? Or if you plan on keeping it, maybe adding some blingy jewelry or something?

It's common to second guess your dress. Maybe you can add a bling belt for added wow factor. It's also common to get excited and make sudden decisions and later regretting it. I actually did that with my bridal party. But ultimately it's how you feel in it, so how do you feel in it?

If you added a belt or different sparkly accessories to it do you think it'd help?

I thought I had those feelings too. I just recently tried it on. Had to test swimwear and it reaffirmed I loved my dress

It’s common. I’m in love with my dress but I see other dress and I’m like omg I want that. Leave it up to me and I’d have ten dresses and ten weddings. You can add a belt, tiara, sparkly veil, shoes and jewelry to add some bling.

I second guessed my dress at first, but once I got it tailored to fit me I fell inlove all over again.

I’m second guessing mine too. Is it too much for a 60 year old, second wedding, etc. i think once I see it on in my size with the right undergarments all my doubts will vanish. And I’m sure it will for you too.

Yes I’ve second guessed mine too and was so tempted to go back and retry other dresses. But once I bought a body shaper and tried it on and once you have your shoes accessories hair and makeup you will loook beautiful no matter what! I find myself second guessing many choices haha and I just have to trust that the first choice I made was good enough lol

Thanks so much for the advice ladies! i'm glad I am not alone in second guessing my feelings but I guess that is right I would have 10 dresses if it were up to me also! lol but I will definitely add some accessories that's a great idea! and I do feel beautiful in it, it feels classy! and once I lose the weight and get it fitted to me i'm sure it will help I even considered getting a second dress but i don't know if it will feel as magical with two dresses but I will definitely post pictures once I get it fitted and after searching for a tiara and belt!! Smiley smile
