Is It Worth The Extra Cost To Provide a Late Night Snack At The Reception?

At every wedding I've been to, there is always So. Much. Food! Appetizers, dinner, cake, dessert bar, late night snack... Did you provide a late night snack at your wedding? If so, what did you serve? Did enough of your guests take advantage of it? Is the late night snack worth the extra cost?

Makes sense! Many of our guests would describe themselves as foodies. We're already providing a smores bar, but not sure if we should pay extra for late night pizza too, since many people will be drinking all evening.

We're planning on serving dinner around 6 or 6:30pm. We are planning on providing a smores bar (which will be available all evening), since our venue has a fireplace, though wondering if it's worth the extra cost for late night pizza too. Pizza would probably be better for those who are drinking all evening, though not sure how many people would actually take advantage of it.

I the pizza was gone by the end of the night. Just left over from the dessert table.

I agree! We are already providing a smores bar - do you think that is enough of a late night snack? Or do you think we should also provide late night pizza?

Hi Lisa! I went to a wedding where everyone was so stuffed, no one ate the late night snacks. We opted out of it for our wedding, but go for it if that’s what is part of your vision!! The snacks really looked tasty 😋

Hi Katie - thank you for your reply! It's not necessarily part of our vision to include a late night snack, but we're trying to figure out if it's something we should include. I also attended a wedding last fall where a late night snack was provided, and I was SO full from dinner (appetizers, soup, salad, entree, sides, and dessert, plus a candy/dessert bar), that I couldn't even think of food the rest of the night! So I didn't eat the late night snack lol. I do know that the late night snack options seem to be popular lately, and that some people do actually eat them. We are already planning on providing a smores bar, which will be available all night, so we're trying to decide if that would be enough of a snack, or if we should provide pizza as well (for an additional fee).

I would do pizza for sure. Even if it means cutting the s’mores bar.

I did not provide a midnight snack because my wedding just had a ridiculous amount of food already

The last wedding I went to also had a ridiculous amount of food (appetizers, soup, salad, entree, multiple sides, cake, a dessert/candy table, and a pizza late night snack). I was so full by the time we finished dinner (I almost couldn't eat dessert), that I couldn't even think about food the rest of the night! I skipped the late night snack. However, other guests at that same wedding loved the late night snack, so I wondered if maybe it was just me lol.
