Is it too early to ask my MOH and bridesmaids?

My vow renewal is 13 months away. I had asked 1 person to be MOH and due to some issues with this person I had to ask another friend. Someone I should've asked in the beginning.

General opinion is to wait until 6-8 months beforehand. If you know the people well enough, I would say a year out is probably still okay. Almost 2 years out is waaaaay too early. Just because you haven't asked people to be in your wedding party doesn't mean you can't talk to them about wedding stuff. And if they keep hounding you about it, you should tell them to back off because it's your decision to make.

I would definitely wait until mid 2018. Yes, you'll get questions from your friends asking if they're in the wedding, but your closet friends will probably already know.

I do not believe in waiting 6-8 months before your wedding to ask your bridal party. You have no idea how long it may take a dress to get ordered or altered. Just wait until mid 2018!

Way too early. They need to get a dress. The end. Most people can manage that in six months.

@amanda s, what happened that you needed to a) replace them b) I hope the backups don't know their backups and that you don't actually intend to replace your honored loved ones like subbing players in a grade school soccer game...

Normally I'm all for the earlier the better, but unless it's like your sisters or other family members I would say hold off indefinitely.
