Is it really that bad to skip the seating chart?

Our wedding will be around 30 (including us) and there is seating for over 80 at our venue, minus a cake/gift/card table and a table to set the cooler on for drinks (very casual wedding!). I mean, come on. If 30 people can’t figure out how to seat themselves in an area that large, then frankly they have bigger issues in my opinion. Is it SO bad to skip the seating chart in my case? The tables each seat 8, so plenty of room if larger groups want to sit together.

For me it was different, her parents always introduced me as their daughter to friends and family, her mom would have been invited but she passed away 7 years ago and I call her dad "dad" her brothers are practically brothers to me. I've known them for 20 years now

Tried that. His argument is if he can take it off later why wear it at all?
i just think it’d look nice and class things up a little bit. We’re having this super casual wedding, but they don’t have to look like bums! I’ll be in a fancy dress, hair & makeup, so will my girls. The boys can wear a stinking tie!

I would say yes. Just because there’s room for 80 doesn’t mean that there’ll be 80 seats open. And even if there is, do you really want 5 people at one table, 7 at another, 4 at a table, etc? On the other hand if your wedding is a more casual vibe then a seating chart might be doing too much. I’m torn!

With the space you have and the number of people you should be fine without it.
