Is it possible to add volume to the bottom of a mermaid dress?

This may sound silly but, I bought my dress a few months ago. I am in LOVE with my dress and I had always wanted a mermaid style gown. I just kind of wish that the trumpet was a little more dramatic. I was wondering if its possible to add tulle underneath to make it look more dramatic, or if that's a dumb idea.

It’s absolutely possible and very common. You can get a mermaid slip which adds poof to the bottom

I ended up buying a "Trumpet skirt" to poof out the bottom of the dress. They normally sell them at Davids bridal for 80$ or even amazon.

Of course! You can buy a mermaid silhouette slip to go under your dress to give it a little more volume.
