Is it okay to wear black for the Rehearsal/rehearsal dinner?

jewles322, on February 27, 2015 at 10:29 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 17

I have a really nice black dress, that I want to wear again (and since I lost a little weight, It will look amazing on me "again"), only problem it is black? I'm really not superstitious about colors and I also do NOT want to buy another dress. My other option is a bright pink dress (which I also love wearing), but only problem is I want to wear my light blue wedding shoes to break them in, and light blue shoes with a bright pink dress might look off??? Okay to wear the black dress??? I can add some color to the dress part with accessories...

I think it's fine to wear black! But keep in mind if your rehearsal is the night before your feet might get too beat up breaking your shoes in.

Sure, why not? I wore a white and black dress to the RD. I don't think there's any expectations or rules about this.

As long as you like it it doesn't matter! You could wear whatever you feel comfortable in!

Wear wherever you would like-including a black dress. As was already mentioned though, I would caution you about breaking in your wedding shoes the day before. Even if you're going to be sitting down, in the event that the shoes cause any kind of blister or anything like that (God forbid) it will still be there (and painful) the next day. My advice is to break the shoes in ahead of time, but rock your black dress!

It's okay to wear whatever you want. i am honestly a little surprised that anyone would have an opinion about what a bride wears to the rehearsal....or wedding for that matter...

But break in your shoes earlier, even if you vacuum with them on!

I am going to break my shoes in . I just wanted to wear my wedding shoes to "practice " walking down the aisle in them. But as far as first time wearing them , of course not. I've already put them on and will put them on again with the inserts I bought

I love black, and I don't think there is anything wrong with wearing it to your rehearsal dinner. I'm wearing white because ours is mostly outdoors in the beginning of August. It's going to be hot! So I figured a white and flowy sundress will be nice in that weather. But honestly, my favorite dress I've found is in black, and I wish I could just buy it. Sadly, with saving all the extra $$$ fro the wedding, I cannot justify. ):
