In December, I went to David's Bridal by myself and bought a wedding dress for $100. I went by myself because my entire family lives in Ohio and I live in Arizona and most of my friends are very busy with their own lives so I didn't want to bother them. I liked the dress well enough and my friends and mom, who I sent pictures to, thought it was very nice.
I ended up showing it to one other person, and she told me it wasn't good enough, that I deserved better, and that she pictured me in something completely different. I don't think she did it in a nasty way, I think she was just trying to be honest. I explained about cost being an issue and she said I should at least try to find something better. I ignored this for awhile, and she quickly forgot about the whole conversation.
Fast forward four or so months, and I don't like my dress and her comments still weigh on me. I confided this to my maid of honor and she convinced me to go to a different store, so that I can at least have the "wedding dress shopping" experience (David's Bridal wasn't very accommodating once I told them I was on a tight budget). So I tried on around ten different dresses and fell in love with one fairly expensive one, of course it was outside the budget. I went home, moved all my money around and decided I could afford it. So I went and bought it!
Now I have two dresses and I don't know what to do. The sparkly strapless one is the new one. I like it better, I just feel like I am going against myself to change dresses. This weekend, my mom is coming into town and I am going to try them both on for her. I think this will help me make a decision.
