Ok, another depressing post from me, but I'm about to make a decision out of anger and hurt and I wanted to see if it was rational.
Next weekend in my wedding shower and I've found out that literally (not figuratively) not a SINGLE person from my side of guests is coming. And by that I mean yes, my siblings and immediate family aren't coming. My mom has now become a MAYBE because she has a kidney stone she needs to pass and isn't certain she'll feel well enough to come.
Obviously, I was pretty upset to find out that not only are none of my blood relatives coming, but everyone I CONSIDERED family are also NOT coming. No, this is not a surprise party, my mother-in-law and bridesmaids are apparently really confused because EVERYONE on my side has declined the invite. We had made it a Couple's Shower that was kid friendly so people wouldn't have to worry about anything, but we still received "we wouldn't want to bring the kids and we have no one to watch them" answers.
At this point I'm just feeling that none of them care enough about me, so why should they still get to come to the wedding? A few have sent gifts (after they complained about my atrocious registry and requested I add new things that they find better and would prefer to purchase instead), but I'm honestly pretty upset and am now on the ANGER stage of grief and want to un-invite some of them now.
What would you do in this situation? (Yes I know this is very sad, my fiance is switching between being furious and feeling so sad for me, but what can we do about it at this point?)
Sorry for yet ANOTHER depressing post from me, but I'm getting fed up with my family and telling them I'm hurt and upset is just having them tell me "being an adult sucks, doesn't it?"
END RANT!
Edit: No official invites have gone out, only Save-the-Dates and shower invites, and I'm only thinking of un-inviting some of the family friends as some of my family's side are asking to bring a guest
