Is it ok to pour beer in cups?

Las066@yahoo.com, on September 15, 2019 at 12:16 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 11
We are stocking the bar ourselves and looking to keep cost down so are undecided on cans with koozies or just pour into cups.

We will have wine and soda that will be poured into cups so do you think it's ok to pour beer into cups as well? Our venue is a historic opera house with a vintage elegance theme.

We have a photo booth that will provide guests with a photo strip that can be kept as a wedding favor and had thought we wouldn't need to also purchase koozies. But, now I am second guessing....help!

Are you pouring from cans, bottles or a keg? We planned on getting cans as we know a place that will buy back unopened cases. We're thinking we should leave it an option to have cup vs can as some people prefer the can.
But, that makes me think we need to have koozies.an expense we had taken out but how I'm reconsidering...

We're going with plastic cups. We looked into a keg but it was to expensive. We're going with cans for beer and soda. We'll have some liquor for mixed drinks and some wine, all in plastic cups. I did get some plastic wine glasses for the champagne toasts

Ok, thank you for the input. I wasn't sure if it would be weird to have the beer in cups without a keg. Yes, when FH researched, he said it was cheaper to get cans over a keg.

If you’re not doing koozies as a favor I think that’s an unnecessary added expense. You’ll already have cups for the rest of your drinks so I would just make sure you’re stocked for the few people that do pour it into a glass, though I think most people will drink their beer from a bottle or can. And honestly the koozies are cute, but people won’t use them again. Save that money for something else.

We(esp FH)feel the same way about the koozies. And honestly, we have so many in our cupboard from weddings that were never used again that it does seem like a waste.
And, we already have the photo booth where guests will get photo strips.
Thank you for your input Smiley smile

Exactly! I have tons of little wine glasses with couples names on them and koozies, cute for sure but not necessary. We are doing a photo booth too and they’ll have the pictures to take home. The only thing I’ve saved from weddings are pictures, that’s the way to go for sure

Why would you pour it from a can to a cup? Seems like a huge waste to me. I would have extra cups as an option for those who want them, but I would think most people will opt to drink from the can.

Yes, we think people will opt to drink from can even though cups will be available.
I think I'm just hung up on feeling like we need koozies since majority will opt to drink from cans. It's an added expense I'm not sure we can gave right now but I'm conflicted.

They’re definitely not a necessity. If you do decide to look into them, I would checkout 24HourWristbands.com. They have pretty good prices, about $60 for 100 of them.
