Is it ok for invitations to be double sided?

Michelle, on March 1, 2015 at 8:59 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 17

So I have come to realize that it is MUCH MORE cost effective to have my invitations printed double sided. Every printing site I have looked at gives you double sided printing for free so it seems like a no-brainer. So I redesigned my invites to take this into account and for invtes, rsvp postcards and envelopes I am coming in at about $100 for 60 which I think is stinkin awesome.

When I redid the invite the reception information is what ended up on the back. Is this ok? Part of me is a little worried some people won't think to look at the back and will think they have not been invited to the reception.

Any thoughts?

PS I just love love love how vista print shows your paper product like it's being held in someone's hands. Such a good sales tactic... I feel like it's already real and it makes me stupid excited! haha. Please tell me I'm not the only one.

Personally, if it's cost effective I say go for it.

I'd be worried about people not checking the back. Maybe put "(Over)" on the bottom of the front?

I agree with Rosie - say more information on the reverse side or reception information over. Something like that. I think you have done a beautiful job on your invitations.

There's probably good chance that mine will be double sided. Seriously if you got a personally addressed envelope in the mail from who you know is having a wedding and you don't think to look on the back than your loss. Would you send a birthday invite the same as you send a wedding invite?, Probably not. If you can save money, I'd say go for it!

Really smart idea! Saves you cost of printing and postage, so why not! I agree that you may want to add "Reception Info on Reverse" at the bottom, but otherwise I think they look fantastic!

I received my BF's wedding invitation last year and I instinctively turned it over, and noticed she had more information on the other side. I thought this was a great idea and will do the same for my invites. Generally, I feel most people would flip over an invitation anyway just out of curiosity to see if there's more information, so I wouldn't worry to much.

Its definitely less formal but based on your invite design, it doesn't seem like you are having a super formal wedding so I say go for it! I also agree with other posters that you should have "see reverse for additional details" or something similar in small print on the front so that people don't miss the info. on the back.

I think its a great idea! I'm all for saving some trees!!!

I didn't even have a "reception card" though, I just put "dinner and dancing" following ceremony, more information on our website on the RSVP card (did online RSVPs so majority of guests didn't send it back)

That is a brilliant idea! I never thought about putting my reception information on the back. It's something I will have to think about. I would be concerned those invited would miss the information on the back.

Yes that's basically great idea! And I think people will naturally look at both sides. I love your invites!

I plan on doing reception information on the back as well - fewer items for people to keep track of!
