Is it necessary to wear white to your bridal shower

My fh and I live about 1000 miles from where our wedding is going to be (my hometown). We've made several short trips during the planning period to get as much done as possible so he doesn't need to waste vacation days. My bridal shower is coming up, but for the sake of time, we've scheduled our engagement shoot only 2 hours before the shower starts. The photographer said to dress casual and matching. We decided to wear green and khaki to the shoot since those are our wedding colors. I really like the outfit for the shoot and I know the shower is going to be pretty casual. I'm just wondering if I'm breaking some unspoken rule that the bride should wear white to her shower.

I don't know if any rules, but I wore a red dress because my shower was the weekend before Valentine's Day and that was kinda the theme.

I don't think there are rules to wearing white at your bridal shower. Although, now that you got me thinking about it, a lot of women do lol. Wear what you want & take tons of pictures

I didn't wear white. I wore a blouse with a burgundy sweater and a black skirt. A lot of women wear white but that's their personal preference, it's not required. Not even at the wedding! Lol

I've never seen anyone wear white to their wedding shower. Usually it's just a nice dress of some sort.

Of course you don't have to wear white to your wedding shower. Some brides are all about wearing short, white dresses to their showers, and others are perfectly comfortable in jeans and any color top. Wearing white to your shower? Cute, but the truth is that you don't have to wear white to your wedding -- so take that issue of the table.

My bigger concern, the one that matters, is scheduling a photo shoot two hours before your wedding shower. Too close, in my opinion. Can you make it a little earlier in the day?
