Is having a “gifts” sign for the gift table tacky?

Is having a “gifts” sign for the gift table tacky? 1
Hey everyone! I’m less than 30 days away from my January 18th wedding! I am getting married at an indoor, elegant venue in Tennessee. I bought these signs, but am second guessing whether I should put the “gifts” one out. We are going to have to 8 foot tables that are near the entrance area of our venue for the guestbook and for guests to place gifts/cards, if they bring them. I don’t want it to look like I’m expecting gifts, I just thought it would be nice decor. Let me know your thoughts!

No its not tacky. A lot of people have a table set aside for Gifts and Cards.

It’s not tacky, you’re not expecting gifts, but if brought, showing your guests where they can place them.

Not tacky at all! Guests need to know where to put gifts, so a sign speeds that up!

It’s fine... but not necessary. Guests know what to do when there’s an 8ft empty table next to a guestbook (kinda like how they already know what a guestbook is and what to do with it). All it really takes is one gift/card to be placed on the table and the rest will follow and not even notice the sign.

Keep signage to a minimum. Zero is good. Especially if related to gifts.

Nah, I think you should use them. You bought them! Having a sign helps, at least at the beginning, and then someone doesn't have to keep directing people to the gift table.

At my cousin's wedding they had a photo booth and nobody knew because there wasn't a sign so we spent the first hour of the reception telling people where it was and that it was free, etc. It was crazy!

Once a couple of gifts are placed there, it won't matter and someone can take the sign down if you want, but it's not tacky and it will definitely serve its intended purpose. Congrats! Less than 30 days?!!! Smiley heart

I think signage for a gift table is absolutely necessary. I once went to a wedding and brought a boxed set of candlesticks. There was no obvious place to put it and people I asked didn't know either (and I wasn't about to bother the bride about it). I wasn't going to leave the gift in any 'ol place so I ended up taking it home and giving it to the couple at a later date!

Also, a card box on the gift table is very useful since you don't want loose envelopes sitting around.

I don't think it's tacky at all. I was planing to get a guestbook and card/gifts sign for my wedding. Plus I see a lot of other receptions with similar signs.

I don't think anyone will be offended by your sign. If you're worried about it, you could have a box that says "cards" on it instead of having the "gifts" sign. People know that cards=gifts, but it's a little bit less obvious.
