Is Davids bridal as cheap instore as they are online?

Danielle, on February 18, 2018 at 2:40 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14
I don't want to spend thousands on a dress, and set up an appointment with Davids bridal since they had many low priced dresses, but the closer I get to the appointment, the more in concerned the store won't have many in store options for a know budget. Has anyone gone to Davids and found a low budget dress? How many options were there? Thanks in advance!

While I did buy my dress online at David's Bridal I did try on dresses in store as well. They definitely had dresses in my budget and I'm one that didn't want to spend too much on a dress. If anything you can take a picture of the tag and find it online after you have tried them on. Just make sure you tell them your budget and they shouldn't pull dresses over it.

I downloaded the David’s Bridal app and saved dresses that I liked. Then showed them. One I really liked they didn’t have in the store, but they had a similar one. And I ended up hating it on lol. But the dress I chose in store was $449 so it wasn’t a bad price at all!

Please do NOT try on dresses with a stylist then go buy that dress online! If you find a promo code or sale online that isn’t offered at the store, the in-store manager will honor it! (I’m an employee of DB) if you go and try on dresses with a stylist then buy that dress online she loses commission and could potential get into trouble with the company, depending on the area! And if you find a dress online, you can save it to your favorites and they will let you try it on in-store. No employee SHOULD bring you dresses over budget, the ONLY time I make an exception to being a bride a dress over budget is if it’s $100 or less over and EXACTLY what they described, and make sure they are okay with it first. The only time it’s difficult is when you have a budget under $600 and want a sparkly ballgown or something from a designer. I encourage you to go!! You will not find a dress in the store over $2,000- if you have a budget of $800-1000 you have incredible options Smiley smile

let me reiterate- it is ALWAYS easier to go through purchasing through the store- should something go wrong with the online order, you’ll have a harder time via telephone, than going through management in store! Many stores offer free shipping as well, so if you find a dress but dont live close by, they will mail it to your house! (All the sales that are online are also in store)

I went and said my ideal budget was 400 and under. The stylist brought me plenty of 299-399 dresses. She did bring a few 499 dresses but was great about making sure I knew that BEFORE I tried it on.

I did end up getting a 499 dress with a 50 dollar off coupon. I loved it and felt like I got the full dress experience with plenty of options to try on. If you're budget conscious I'd consider including alteration costs in your budget. My alterations will cost almost as much as my dress. I believe they gave me a ballpark quote of 350 for bustle, taking the bust in and hemming it. However, some dresses don't need that much alteration. I'd talk to them about what the dress will need before going up to the register.

I was worried too and told them no more than 800$. I tried on SO many dresses and I was surprised when a lot of them were a couple hundred under budget!

I also had a tight budget ($500). There were a decent amount of dresses in store within my budget. My stylist pulled one last dress for me that was $599, I loved it, she matched the price online ($549 plus 25% off) so my dress ended up being under budget.

Tip: when looking at them online write down the code of the dress “NXL555” or screen shot the pic from the site with dress and code on it. When you go give your consultant the list of codes of dresses.
my dress was $399 online and $399 at the store.
my first visit she let me pick through racks and pull what I wanted.(I pulled all the ones I already seen online I liked) Even showed me clearance racks. I tried on 6-7 dresses the first time. And on second visit tried on 3 repeats and one new.

I downloaded the app and saved my favorites that fit within my budget. When I went into the store they were able to print out my favorites list, I told them my max budget was $800. They pulled some of the dresses from my favorites list and I was able to walk around the racks and pick some I liked that I could afford as well. We went from there. I ended up spending $600 on my dress, the same dress is now on sale for $350. They weren’t having a sale when I went into buy, so I definitely recommend waiting for their sales!

David's doesn't have a dress over 2000 dollars, and one of my very favorite dresses that I almost purchased there was 599. They're probably the best place to go for an affordable gown. You can also look for local boutiques that sell sample/off the rack dresses which usually come at a huge discount.

Got my dress at DB. Oleg Cassini, regular price $1500. Sale price $499. You can definitely find something in your budget. I told my consultant what I wanted and she helped me find it.

No, they are not the same price nor do they have the same selection.
My experience with them was horrible!
I had LOTS of dresses saved on my account, they had 2 of them instore. They didn't offer any substitutes.
The one dress they did have was listed as $499 on line. At the store it was $100 off so it was still like $1,300 and when I mentioned the price online she just said no.

While I understand the concept of someone losing out on commission I tried on dresses while out of town with my friend and bought a completely different dress online then the ones I tried online. Something I don't recommend doing but it's what worked for me since I don't even live close to David's Bridal.
