Is Billy Joel's She's got a way appropriate Father Daughter Dance song?

Hi Candice! Welcome to WeddingWire! I am a huge Billy Joel fan, and although I think it is a lovely song, it is about being in love with the person he wrote it for. I personally don't see why you couldn't use it for a father-daughter dance song, but think that maybe a song like "You're My Home" or "Vienna" may be more fitting for the situation! Does this song have special meaning to you and your father?

If its special for you and your dad I think it's fine. Even though he did write the song for the person he is in love with.

We are starting our dance to My Little Girl- Tim McGraw but halfway throuh I asked the DJ to switch to the chorus of Simple Man (arguably a mother/son dance song) but its my dads favorite song (he has lyrics tattooed to him), it has meaning to our family, and he requested it originally and I shot it down with this plan in mind! So even though it isn't traditional it has more meaning to us than any other song and I love that its a surprise to him!

Im doing landslide. Doesnt quite fit but i dont care. It reminds me of him and stevie dedicated it to her dad. So eff it. For those reasons i saw yes she’s got a way works.

Also my first idea was tiny dancer by Elton John cause that song has always reminded me of riding in a car with him blasting that song but I wanted him to choose the song because I know this moment is for him.

I completely agree, the lyrics are very sweet and don't emulate anything inappropriate! I think people will be fine and if it means something to you, then you should go for it!

I think it should be fine but to be on the safer side a song like Lullaby may be better!

I think it is a great song and the lyrics do not have anything inappropriate in them. I do think Lullaby would be amazing too!
