I was wondering if anyone here plans on wearing a different dress during the reception.. If so when are you changing? After the first dance? If you are wearing a second dress please post pics.

This may sound really weird but Ii want my dress to be tight as possible. I don't care if I can't sit in it lol as long as it looks pretty❤ and I hate bussels, or whatever they are called when they pin up the train!! But at the same time I don't want to get my dress dirty lol walking around with a long train! I

wouldn't say my dress isn't the dress for me? But I can def see not wanting to take it off!!

@M&SC, 20 dresses! I can't imagine how fast changing another dress in a day.

I thought about it. I can't "drop it low" in my dress I have but I love it so much I don't think I'm going to care. Still on the fence.

I am, but that's because of our first dance. Doing bachata in a long, heavy dress makes me nervous, and that's pretty much how a lot of the dancing at our wedding will be. Who knows, I may change back into wedding dress.

@Beth I completely agree with you! I use to compete in pageants. This dress is a backup dress I bought years ago that I never wore. Its really pretty so I figure if I want to change into something more fitting without a fuller bottom I have an option without spending a lot of money. I'm a budget bride and definitely not wanting to spend unnecessary money. Thats why I am not stressing the situation. If I want to change I'll have it if not I'll keep on my first dress!

Mrs Weaver, changing your name and hiding your post doesn't make us forget about your cheap Ass no budget butterfly killing ways and now you're here lecturing on changing dresses. You crack me up.

AMEN MrsMorales - @ Mrs Weaver, I'm pretty sure that anyone who saw your post yesterday will not take your advice right now - we remember you, new name or not.

Also, @ Mrs Weaver, I read your above post twice, just to figure out what you are trying to say. Proper grammar helps.

ETA - Nope. I am having one dress that I love so much I won't ever want to take it off.

I get dishing out honest, harsh, slightly judgmental feedback when it comes to a bride not taking her guests' comfort/appetite/needs/safety into account or treating BM/MOH/FIL/FH/etc like crap because she's acting like a bridezilla, or completely ignoring etiquette which results in being rude to guests, but I don't think there's a need to argue about changing into a different dress as being stupid or not. That's not affecting anyone else but the bride and is usually totally a comfort issue. I'm personally not changing into a second dress but saying that a bride "must not love her dress as much as I love my dress" or that her dress must not be "the one" because if it was "THE ONE" she would NEVER want to change out of it, then is not really constructive. Some women do get uncomfortable wearing a long, heavy dress all day and want to have something lighter to dance in. So?

Last wedding I went to, the bride had a GORGEOUS lace fitted dress and she clearly adored it. Around 10pm she changed into a shorter dress and flip flops, and danced danced danced the rest of the night with everyone. So what? She was comfortable, adorable and had a blast.

I wore two dresses. And I changed right away the bouquet/garter toss. It was really humid the day of (and I thought it would be) so I actually ran out and bought a cocktail length dress of the rack from DB The day before

I'm going to find a nice, light white sundress as a back up for the reception. Budget bride but I'm not about to give up on a wedding dress just because my health is unpredictable. The sundress is for if my pain issues are particularly bad as it'll be bought loose and with a belt so I can wear my mobile TENS machine.

Probably changing during cocktail hour, after photos - if I end up needing to.

Want to wear multiple wedding dresses on your day? Go for it.

I found the pic of me in the 2nd dress. I was kind of a mess by this point, it was humid, and raining, and I was sweaty from dancing up a storm all night lol

My MOH had a long lace dress that had a detachable bottom. It was really nice and allowed for comfort later on.

Its tradition in my family that the bride wears a ceremony and a reception dress for dancing. I'll be changing before the reception starts. I have no dress yet so I can't show anything.

I was thinking about it. My wedding dress is HUGE. And I DO love it. It's a princess-style ball gown with a chapel train. There's going to be about 200 people and an 8-piece rockin' band at the reception and free-flowing "Maryland water" courtesy of my FFIL. I would love to change into something a little more modern/sexy for after the cake cutting and when the dancing gets into full swing. I don't usually like to be in the spotlight, but I might make an exception for a costume change on my wedding day into something totally fabulous

My dress is this huge Vera Wang ball gown and I absolutely adore it but I’d also like to enjoy my evening with family and friends and this dress takes up quite a bit of the room so I am definitely going to be changing out of it. Everyone has different reasons for doing what they do and if you want to wear two dresses then I say absolutely!
