Is anyone else looking for environmentally/socially conscious items on their registries?

My fiance and I are starting to build our registry and are looking for the standard types of items (i.e. dishes, serveware, cookware, bedding/towels, etc.). In general we care about where things come from and are looking for advice/suggestions on finding items in these categories that are also environmentally and socially friendly. Does anyone know where we could find information like that? Is anyone else looking for that kind of information?

My fiancé and I registered with Amazon. One thing we have been wanting to do for a while is to move away from plastic Tupperware/food containers. They have a lot of packs of multiple glass storage containers and so we registered for a few of those. Each item will have specifics in their descriptions so you can see if they meet your qualifications before adding anything to the registry.

I love that you and your FS are taking the environment into account when registering.
As Eamsee mentioned, looking at the specific products pages should give information on their kindness to the environment both in manufacturing and running (whether they are energy efficient or not).
It could also be a great idea to research online environmentally friendly alternatives to items. For example, the PP mentioned using glass storage containers instead of plastic.
There are so many blogs and online resources out there to help people be more environmentally conscious!
Are there other ways that you and you FS are making your wedding day more environmentally friendly?
