Hello wedding world! my fiancé and i are down to 2 venues: park chateau & glen ridge country club - both which have not been fully built. park chateau is an absolute fairytale and the sister venue for park savoy and naninas in the park. every.single.person. speaks of the quality and beauty the owners of these venues produce. glen ridge country club is not known and does not seem to have the same rapport. it also offers a lot less as a whole with food. that being said, both would be beautiful. i specifically am extremely torn if the additional money (roughly $10,000) is worth it to do it at park chateau? thoughts?

If you're a planner you shouldn't be using semi-words like 'cuz'.

And stop with the advertising, okay?

Hey..wasn't it mentioned this morning that a vendor should have a vendor account, Michelle? Wedding planning -- could have guessed. Now you're advertising, and even after you're flagged for it, you're still advertising.

Flagging you big time! Play by the rules. If I can't offer a free bouquet to a strapped military bride (yeah, I got flagged for that "advertisement" several years ago), then you can't troll these forums for clients.

Ultimately only you can decide if it is "worth it" or not. Go with your gut feeling. Where do you picture yourself getting married? Is there something else you would rather spend the 10k on? I am sure both places are beautiful.

Hi laine! my gut is telling me park chateau. the 10K could be spent many other places-including being not spent at all. i think i will always wonder what if if we do not book it there and i will feel like i missed out on a special opportunity. i know anywhere will be beautiful but i think i am going to take the plunge and enjoy every moment of it (thats what I'm hoping at least-i don't want to keep second guessing myself)

My reception is being held at nanina's in the park, to me, the extra money was worth it. no other venue compared, and they do go above and beyond with regards to service and food.

the 18K to get married on a Sat night during my preferred time (Oct) was not though, which is why were going with a Friday night lol

Nooooo lol it was an ADDITIONAL 18K to have the reception on a Saturday vs Friday - I wish it was only 18K!

March is soon, girl! If I had the extra money, I would go with Park Chateau. Based on the sketches I've seen, that place will be beautiful.

Hi Lauren! I'm getting married at the park chateau March 10 and I can't wait! Book it!! It's going to be so beautiful. I felt the same way about passing up the opportunity to get married in a brand new place as beautiful as this one is going to be. I had dreamed about having my wedding at the florentine gardens for years, but after seeing the chateau I had to trust my gut. Good luck with all your planning and congratulations!

Ps there's a lot of people on this thread being unnecessarily nasty to you about your choice of spending money and the month you're choosing to get married in. I hope you aren't listening to these people, just like their day is their day and they can do what they want, yours is yours. You do you girl! March wedding buddies!!

Nicole, I don't see the nastiness that you're referencing. People seem to be giving genuine advice or opinions. You know that tends to happen on public internet forums.

Please know that construction of buildings gets delayed ALL THE TIME! I would be iffy about booking a venue that isn't complete. My DH works in construction and you wouldn't believe how many times his work is held up because of some unforseen problem with another contractor or the city inspectors. I think that's more of a concern than whether the venue is worth the money. But, that's just me.

The park savoy is literally the most elegant wedding venue I have ever seen, including even where we got married. We couldn't afford the park savoy because their minimum guests was not reasonable for us. I would be concerned that it's not built yet though.

Nobody was saying anything mean about March. I just said that nobody will be playing golf. March in New Jersey is disgusting.

I agree with not that Erin. I would be extremely nervous with an incomplete venue! Also lmao @notthaterin. That cracks me up that you changed your name!!! Can't say I blame you but it is funny!!!

The PS renovation was done exactly on time.....yes, there are delays all the time, but any savvy owner builds time in.

I'm excited for you Lauren, really! I know the PC is going to have the WOW factor that both the PS and Nanina's have. And I know the staff there; you couldn't be in better hands.
