I'm thinking of opting out of the rehearsal dinner. At first I thought it was necessary to have but now I'm not so sure. Securing a place for the rehearsal and then having a dinner and paying for everyone's food seems like a waste of money. I'm about 9 days shy of the 60 day mark and there's still...

Securing a place for the rehearsal and then having a dinner and paying for everyone's food seems like a waste of money. I'm about 9 days shy of the 60 day mark and there's still so much to be done. I would rather put that money towards the balance of my photographer. We bought gifts for both sets of parents and our entire wedding party. Is a rehearsal and rehearsal dinner mandatory? Is it not as simple as walking in order? What's your thoughts 🤔🤔

We are not having a rehearsal / dinner. Our bridal party is small, we are not marrying in a church so it's not necessary!

SOOO glad someone asked this!!! We are just gonna go a brief run through the night before! I feel so much better knowing other people don't see the need for rehearsal lol

We're having a rehearsal mostly for the benefit of our 8 year old son who will be leading the processional.

We are not doing a fancy rehearsal dinner. I don't really get the point. You get a big family get together the next day, so why are we having two? I don't get the brunch after either but to each their own.

We are just having a BBQ on the lawn for the people at the rehearsal who are helping us do setup the night before.

Not having a rehearsal or rehearsal dinner either. Our officiant told us it wasn't necessary.

And not only would we have had to pay for the rehearsal dinner, we would have had to pay extra for our officiant for that time as well! No thanks lol skip it Smiley smile

See the extra money part is what throws me especially when I still have so much to get done

No, I don't think it is. If you can't afford it, then I wouldn't! Just let people know so they don't expect it.
