Is a grand exit possible?

Taylor, on September 6, 2021 at 10:08 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 5
Hi all! So my wedding reception is in the Crown Room of the Fairmont hotel in San Francisco. It’s the very top floor of the large tower that’s apart of the Fairmont and it has an absolutely incredible 270 degree view of all the city. So I was wondering if a grand exit is even possible since an elevator is the only way to leave the Crown Room. I’ve always dreamt of a sparkler exit but obviously that’s not exactly possible indoors and there’s no way to get almost all of our guests outside to do a fake grand exit when we are on the 24th floor, also especially since we are already staying in the bridal suite of the Fairmont and won’t be driving off anywhere. Does anyone have any ideas or is it just not possible?

Right now, our only plan is to have a private last dance at the very last song of the night when everyone is getting ready to leave and just dip out for the after party next door at the Mark Hopkins hotel.
Thank you everyone for your help!!

Could you have people line up to make an exit way towards the elevator? You could use LED sparklers or bubbles or balloons, etc. Then to grand exit would be into the elevator

If you're going outside to go to another hotel, you could do an exit at that time. All the guests could head down to the first floor while you're having the last dance?

Does the hotel allow for confetti poppers? Those could be vacuumed up and you could do a cute tunnel to the elevator! Or out the ballroom door?

Since only about 20 people show up in the sparkler exit pics, take a handful of people down with you to do a fake one. The rest of the guests prob won't even know you left for a minute!

I agree with Dawn that I think the best option would be to do a grand exit onto the elevator! You can have everyone line up and take a cute pic kissing on the elevator before the doors close. Then head to your room to change for your after party or whatever the rest of your plans are.

I'm not sure how the room or venue is set up, but maybe you can do your private last dance in an area away from the elevator that way everyone can line up while you enjoy your last dance.
