Is a girl ring bearer & 2 flower girls walk together?

Sfam, on May 23, 2019 at 6:25 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 9
My oldest niece wants to be a flower girl, but she’s going to be 9 when me and FH get married June 2020. She’s 8 now and wants to be a flower girl, but I don’t know if she’s to old to be one? So I was thinking she has 2 toddler sisters. They’re twins and will be 3 years old by June 2020. I was thinking if I should have my twin nieces be flower girls and my older niece walk in the middle of them carrying the rings. My older niece isn’t shy but the you’d ones are extremely shy around people they don’t know.. any advice?? Or should I just not have my small nieces be the flower girl and my oldest niece be the flower girl? I’m short and 5’1 , she’s gonna be 9 and she’s half my size now lol

My flower girl was 10 years old. I don’t think age or size is an issue here. Do you feel obliged to included the 3 year old twins? The 9 year old niece will definitely remember her role in the wedding later in life as well so you can keep that in mind too.

If if you want to include all 3 girls, the plan you had above sounds nice! If you’re changing things only because of your nieces older age, I wouldn’t.

I agree with PP that age and size don't really matter. If she wants to be flower girl and you want her to be flower girl, let her do it. If not, I think ring bearer is a fine alternative.

Do you want to include all 3 of your nieces? If so, your plan sounds great. Your older niece might feel special being given a different 'job' to her two younger sisters. It would also be great for the shy 3 year-olds to have their older sister walking beside them.

If you are only worried about her age, I really don't think it's an issue. If you want her to be a flower girl, then go ahead!Smiley flower

Age and size has nothing to do with whether a person is a flower girl. If she wants to be a flower girl, let her. My 3 flower girls were 11, 9, and 7. The 11 year old was nearly as tall as me. It was no big deal and she really loved being a flower girl.

Well originally I thought only having my 9 year old niece be the flower girl and no ring bearer. But then I did thought maybe her age wouldn’t be good or awk ? Idk, I kept reading online and most articles says 3-8 years old. So I didn’t know what to think ! I do want my 3 year old nieces but I think they’ll be to shy to walk. And my 9 year old niece is really excited to be the flower girl since me and FH announced our engagement! Smiley smile and I want her to be the flower girl since i know she won’t be shy and is excited ! So if she can be my Flower girl then I probably wont have my little nieces.

Thank you! I think you should just have your older niece be the flower girl, especially since she is so excited about it. My ring bearer was 3 and was very shy and unpredictable. His sisters were my flower girls so the youngest flower girl (7) walked down with him to help him get down the aisle. It might be tough for you to have a couple of 3 year old flower girls.

My flower girl will be 10 at the time of my wedding. I chose someone older because I didn't want the toddlers running away, sitting down, not to throw the flowers, running to their parents halfway down the aisle / during the ceremony. It really depends on how you feel about it. I felt if my FH and I are paying 10k+ for our wedding I want it to be as perfect as I can get it so I opted out of having the younger kids as flower girl / ring barrer, and chose someone "more disciplined" if you want to say.
