Jasmine , on March 13, 2019 at 11:25 AM Posted in Planning 0 24

Good Morning,

I am looking to get wrist corsages for the mothers for the wedding. However, i am wondering if $20 is to much or should i even get flowers for the mothers?

Honestly, I am unsure the average cost for wrist corsages. Our corsages are included in our total floral cost. We are getting: bride bouquet, 6 bridesmaid bouquets, 4 corsages, 13 boutonnieres, 2 arch arrangements, and flower girl petals for $875 + tax. The mothers and grandmothers usually get corsages. We plan to have our mothers & grandmothers wear wrist corsages and our fathers & grandfathers wear boutonnieres.

Wow that is great pricing. I was quoted for 750 for bride bouquet, 6 BM, 9 boutonnieres and 3 corsages..

$20 doesn’t sound like a particularly expensive corsage, however “too much” is relative to individual budget , and if it is a lot for you, I think this area is one that is fine to make cuts (unless these woman feel strongly about having them and are contributing). I had a low floral budget , so, opted to not spend for corsages and boutineers for family members, and did flowers for bridal party only. I did run it by the moms first though to make sure they wouldn’t be bothered not to have them (they didn’t care at all)

I think you can skip them if it’s not within your budget. I’m not doing corsages or bouts and I doubt anyone will notice.

Price is dependent on the flower choices and size. Mine were quoted at $25 which for only 2 mothers that's $50 right there which I think is a joke. If you think $20 is over the top you could check local grocery store prices on corsages as if it was a prom corsage ya know. Could be cheaper. This is what I am considering.

That's how much our corsages will cost and I thought that was a pretty fair price.

I think that’s a reasonable price. In my area, even grocery store corsages are $20.

That's fairly average for a corsage.

I just wanted to see what other prices were out there. One lady quoted me 30 which was half of the girls bouquets and I thought that was a joke. My mom feels like going to grocery store it will be cheaper but we will see. Thank you for the comment.

Yeah that is pretty crazy honestly. I am considering just ordering from a grocery store to make them or making my own with real flowers ordered from grocery store. No problem!

I think $20 is fair for a corsage. Ours were $32/each for pinned or wrist.

Mine are $35 each so I think $20 is a great deal.

I paid $40 per wrist corsage and $25 per boutonnière. So I don’t think $20 is too much but it all depends on your budget.

    What kind of flowers?

We're paying $15 for each corsage - spray roses and baby's breath. $20 sounds reasonable.

I went to a local grocery store and was still quoted $20 for a wrist corsage with spray roses.
