Is 10 too old for a flower girl?

Hello,
I didn't even think to ask this question until my mother suggested that my goddaughter may be too old (will be 10 at the wedding) to be a flower girl and suggested I make her a junior bridesmaid instead. I feel like 10 is perfectly fine for a flower girl and much too young for a junior bridesmaid. Just wanted to see what other brides were doing!

10 is fine to be a flowergirl. 10/11 is usually the maximum age. Most people don't have a jr bridesmaid younger than 12/13.

My flower girl was 8 yrs old, but people are using their grandmothers now. So I don't think there is an actual age limit anymore.

I totally agree with this! There are flowermen and flowerwomen, so there's absolutely no firm cutoff for a flower girl. I don't think that 10 is much too young to be a junior bridesmaid, but if you're uncomfortable with it and your flowergirl doesn't feel she's too old for the role that's all that matters.

I think 10 years old is fine for a flower girl. IMO junior bridesmaids work better for teenage girls. You may want to ask your god daughter though, maybe she might think she's too old, and would prefer to be a junior BM instead.

I think 10 is fine! But any older than that might be too old. But you can really do any age as long as shes okay with it

Ten is not too old she technically isn’t a maiden yet sand the original purpose of a bridesmaid was women that had entered maidenhood

It is fine, my niece is 10 yo too and she will be my flower girl but for her dress we are buying a “junior bridesmaid dress
“ because she is too big for a regular flower girl dress

My flower girl will be 10 in September right before our October wedding (: we also have her 7 year old sister and an almost 3 year old! 10 is perfectly fine!

My 10- and 9-year-old nieces will be junior bridesmaids in my wedding. I think it's up to you and what your goddaughter would enjoy.
