I work at a place where everyone is very close - bosses families have dinners with everyone else's families, etc. My boss is laying the pressure to get an invite, but I would rather not invite anyone from work. I like to keep my personal life more separate (especially because my job has a religious standing) and I don't want to be self conscious on my wedding day about what my (very religious) boss will be thinking. How can I nicely say that I don't want to invite her? Should I go ahead and invite her?

    No one should ever expect an invite. My FH and I will be inviting both of our bosses because we feel since we work in small offices, it's proper etiquette - however, neither of our jobs are of a religious nature.

    My bosses are wonderful people and I have worked for them for 16 years along with a lot of the other employees, but we've decided not to invite anyone from my job because I don't want anyone to feel left out.

    So I have a problem. I have worked at my company for 10 years. Used to get on pretty well with my boss. Lately we have clashed. Hes pissed quite a few people off. Hes obviously having money issues and taking it out on the staff.

    Anyway when I got engaged he was like im so happy for you etc. Am I getting an invite to the wedding. Thinking it may make him a bit less of an arse I invited him to the wedding. But yesterday for weather reasons and I asked to leave whilst still light as I live an hr away from work and my partner said it was bad at home. I got a very rude response back and wasn't allowed to leave. Anyhow as ive already given the invite its a tricky situation, but I really dont want him there. Hes just become not a very nice person. Help xx
