Inviting a boss to the wedding?

Did you invite your boss to the wedding? I keep being told to do it as a courtesy and that it's the right thing to do. I've only been at this company 7 months though and I don't know how appropriate it is. A few coworkers invited their bosses (some showed, some didn't) but they have been here longer...

A few coworkers invited their bosses (some showed, some didn't) but they have been here longer so I'm assuming it's different. Thoughts?

I did not invite mine or any coworkers because it's not fair to invite some and not all( my work is a small place, like 14 total employees) Plus I have only worked their for 6 months by the wedding so.

I have been at my current job for about a year and a half and I didnt even think twice about not inviting my boss, my FH on the other hand has been at his job a little under a year and is inviting his boss because they work in a smaller department so they have a better relationship

I have worked at my company for 3 years. I invited my bosses because I've worked with these doctors for so long.

I'm not inviting anyone from work, and when some have brought up invites (ugh) I just explain that it's almost six hours away from them and I don't want to put that burden on anyone. I've been there 10 months.

We have FH's boss and all his coworkers on our invite list...granted it's a small company but with +1 it's a bulk of our guest list. I wish we didn't have to invite the boss. I'm showing FH this thread!

I've been working for my boss for 6 years and we are the only attorneys in the office so it made sense. FH has been with his (large) company for about a year and a half and is not inviting his boss. It definitely depends on your work situation and relationship.

Nope. I would say don't unless you hang out outside of work

Great advice, definitely glad I doubled checked on my gut feeling of no invite on this one. Thanks all!
