The only time the food is mentioned on the invite is if you need them to make a selection ahead of time, with their RSVP. If your venue doesn't require precounts bevause it's a buffet or just not a requirement, then you don't need to list anything about the specific meals.

I wouldn’t list the food but I’d put a line on your rsvps or on your website if you’re doing them online for guests to tell you about an allergies/dietary restrictions.

We had a buffet and did not mention food at all on our invites. We had online RSVPs and one of the questions was if our guests had any dietary restrictions (so we could check for allergies and get an estimate of vegitairan/vegan portions needed). Our caterer helped us decide how much of each protein (chicken/beef/tofu) to order based on the guest count and the number of vegetaian/vegans we were expecting.

You don’t say anything beyond “Dinner reception to follow”. If you are serving a plated meal, then you list the menu as detailed as you can, contrary to popular belief. For a buffet, there is nothing for them to choose beforehand. Either way, you do need a line saying “please contact us for dietary restrictions”.
