Just started getting our invites in the mail. More coming over the next few weeks. When should i mail out invites? Our wedding is June 19 2021 so just needing to find out when a good time to start mailing them would be. We haven’t done any engagement photos for our save the dates yet, we aren’t really picture ready. So it’s just invites and RSVP’s for now.
Invitations are mailed out 6-8 weeks before the wedding with replies due back around 2-3 weeks (confirm with your caterer when they need a final count). This allows you time to track down anyone who didn't reply and tally your headcount for the caterer.
I would confirm with your vendors when they need a final count by and then give yourself two weeks before the final count is due just to help you settle things

I wouldn’t send invitations any earlier than April 2021 for a June 19, 2021 wedding. Save the dates can go out a year in advance, but you can’t really expect rsvps more than a month or two out, especially since no one knows what 2021 is going to look like with Covid. Good luck.
Honestly with Covid I would see when your last day to give a final count and send out local invites a month in advance and those more far away from you about a month and a half to two month advance just to be cautious that with Covid almost everything is unpredictable 😅
If you're sending save the dates, they should be sent before invitations. Save the dates typically go out 6-8 months before the wedding and invitations 6-8 weeks before the wedding. If you're having a destination wedding, you can extend those times by 1-2 months/weeks.
If everyone is local, 6-8 weeks for invites. If you have some OOT guests, you can go as early as 3 months. Some say earlier, but really if they're coming from somewhere in the States (as opposed to international travel), you don't need to be that ahead because people will forget about it.

If you send save the dates to everyone on your list, then you can send invites out to all at 6-8 weeks. Mail does not take that much longer. There is no reason to send them earlier, even to guests across the country, because it implies that a B list is being made.

I’ve never heard that, but it’s an interesting take on it! In my family, it’s just customary to send OOT invites earlier because it takes more planning. To each their own!
