Invites & a polariod-like picture

Shamaegan, on November 12, 2019 at 4:14 PM Posted in Planning 1 7
Hi y’all! So, how’re y’all doing invites? A matte finish is significantly cheaper, but will it make me look cheap? 😂 Thanks!

We ordered all in one invites through Minted. They have a matte finish, which I prefer. If anything, I think a glossy finish looks cheaper.

Ok awesome! do you think it will look weird with a small polaroid picture of us (printed on the same cardstock) if it’s matte too?

I'm not sure what you mean. Would the photo be a part of your invitation layout, or would you be sending a photo of yourselves in addition to the invitation?

We’re just putting these style of pictures with the invites inside of the envelope!

I think it would be odd and probably a waste of money to just send people a random photo of yourselves. Maybe you could incorporate the picture in the actual invitation so it's not quite so random.

I'm confused. Are you talking about sending save-the-dates or invitations? STDs usually go out about 6-8 months before the wedding and literally tell guests to "save-the-date" on their calendar, and either say or imply the invitation will follow at a date closer to the wedding. For that, the photo idea is adorable and would be a great option, if you like that style. Invitations typically don't get mailed until about 8 weeks before the wedding. There are invitation options that include a photograph, but at that point they wouldn't also be STDs, so it might be odd/confusing to send your guests and invitation and a STD in the same envelope, at the same time, roughly two months before the wedding.
