Invite wording

Joey, on April 11, 2020 at 8:53 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 1 4
Given everything going on in the world right now, we decided to have our ceremony be just a few close friends and family later this summer. We are having our reception the same evening with all our other friends and co workers. So, my question is, how do I go about wording my “reception only” invites? I’ll be sending the ceremony invites to the 20-30 people attending separately.

What kind of reception are you having? Like is it casual or formal? If it’s kinda formal, I would say something like “Please join Joey & _____ in celebration of their new life together.” Wait, I don’t like the last part but maybe something along those lines. If your reception is more casual, you could do something cute like “We said ‘I Do’ and would like for you to join us for our reception.” Or something like that. Lol

I hope that helped a little. Or just made you laugh. 😊

You could call the reception “The Celebration Of Our Love OR marriage”
“Please join us for a celebration of our love”
“Please join us for a celebration of our marriage”
