Invite Question

Ashley, on August 1, 2022 at 1:52 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 2
I’m getting married end of September. Got engaged about 6 months ago, so it has been pretty hectic planning but the date in September worked for the venue we wanted and for family/close friends. I sent out STDs in March to some people who I knew would for sure be invited but things have been a little crazy w/ the planning and other things (fiancé’s dad was recently diagnosed with cancer). I sent out most invites 2 weeks ago but had an issue with address printing for some that I had to redo and some other friends that I decided I wanted to invite so I sent them out this past weekend. At this point these last invites should be received about 7 weeks out from the wedding, but some of the guests are from out of town and would need to make travel arrangements. I feel really bad about sending the invites out so late. I totally do not expect people to come from out of town last minute, but I did really want to invite them. At the same time I don’t want them to be offended by the short notice so I debated whether to send at all. This is completely my fault for being disorganized but is this really awful etiquette?

You had a pretty short engagement and sounds like some stressful things are going on (sorry to hear about Fi's dad hope everyone is doing ok)so I don't think it ll be a big surprise you were not able to send save the dates. Most people in my circle knew about the date and the venue well before anything went out just from word of mouth. Hopefully people can make it but if they can't they can't. You did the best you could, try not to worry about it. Happy planning!Smiley heart

Send them!! Even if people cannot make it, they will appreciate the sentiment. And those who truly know and love you will know you did your best Smiley heart
