I work in a hospital in a leadership position and just can not decide whether or not I should invite my boss or not. I do have quite a few friends that I hang out with outside of work that will be invited so there will be people that I work with going to the wedding. Anyone been in a similar situation?

We did but that's partially because we have both worked with her. We didn't really give it a second thought, we just knew we were going to invite her.

I am in a similar situation. I work in a hospital type setting and have been questioning whether I should or not. I still have time to decide, but I've heard you should at least invite them out of courtesy.

I won't invite the boss unless you are close to her. I am not inviting my boss or anyone else from work expect a couple of friends I socialize with outside of work.

We sent invites to our bosses, thinking one couple would come and the other decline, but one couple will be away, so the other coyote had to decline to work. ..

Eta. FH and I work together and are inviting others from work. he has worked the for 23 years (since he was 14) and I worked there for 5. We based the invites on who we would call/spend time with outside of work and chose ONLY that have known FH for 10+ years. That way we get the who we want, but no one can complain.

    Eta. Couple not coyote

FH is inviting his two bosses but not the rest of the office. The bosses have gone to extreme lengths to help us out in this very challenging year. I am on the fence about mine. I am thinking of changing jobs, possibly before the wedding, so inviting him, even though we are close could be super awkward.

Do not do it. You're not obligated to, and if you have coworkers there it will put them, and you, on edge the whole time. Of course, she could decline, but she may accept and feel obligated to attend as your boss - which would be awkward for you both. Just say no.

My mom's boss will be at my wedding, but he and his wife are not regular bosses... when she was injured, they offered to drive her to/from physical therapy if my father's dialysis conflicted with her appointments... like, amazing people. But that's also not my own boss... my own boss is also lovely, but would not invite him.

My boss had a fit because I didnt personally invite her. Then a week later a coworker complained too. I don't even like these people that much. Why would I invite them.
