I agree it’s too early for invitations, there’s a very slim chance you’ll get accurate RSVPs a year in advance. Save the Dates are how you let the important people know the date to keep open if it’s important for them. We now live in Raleigh and almost all of our guests will be traveling from NY/NJ and Puerto Rico so I sent out save the dates 11 months out to give people the “heads up” of the date!

I’m getting married the same month. Im sending out my save the dates this month to double as Christmas cards Smiley winking on the save the date I have a link to my website with accommodation suggestions etc for the guests that want to plan ahead, because if they are getting a STD they obviously know they are invited and will need to RSVP. All of our guests are out of town too. I’ve had a ton of family bug me about my venue and it’s been obnoxious so if anyone else is reading this, STDs a year early is MORE than fine! I plan on sending my invites out first week of August. Or end of July. Most people start planning their fall/winters at the end of summer after all their other summer activities begin to die down!

Send the Save the Date, NOT the invite!

Our wedding is September 19,2020 and I won’t be sending ours out, for a destination wedding, until- at the earliest- May.

Yes I believe it is to early, what you can send out is your “save the dates” invitations is good to send 2 or 3 month prior to your wedding. My wedding will be held on July 18,2020 and I am sending my invites around may

My wedding is in October 2020, and we are sending out Save the Dates in Spring 2020 (probably March) as advised by my planner and photographer. Almost all of our guest are coming from out of town as well. They said send out Save the Dates a little earlier when you have a lot of out of town guests. Like the other ladies said, it is pretty early for invites. TBH, a LOT of people throw out their invitations or misplace them anyways. So if you really want to send something out early, make it the save the dates!

Yes. Only because guests will receive them and forget about it for a long time. Which means they'll forget to RSVP on time too. Sending them closer to the date ensures guests don't get sidetracked and you get as many RSVPs as possible.

If you have your venue sorted out already then I would make some sort of save the dates either via social media or paper greetings to spread the good news first before sending out the invites.

Yes. Too early. Send out save the dates with the wedding date and city and your wedding website. That way you can send more detailed information like directions, hotel block, etc with the invitation.

It’s too early because with the holiday mail of this year, people lose track of stuff/porch robbers etc. If your wedding is where a lot of people have to fly in, I would recommend sending out save the dates now and then in about 6 months send out the invites.

Exactly. Our wedding is 2/29/20 and I sent STDs in December and my invitations are going out early January LOL.

    To each their own!

I agree with most. It would be too early and you don't want your guests to forget your date.
