Invitations??

How many months out do you start sending out invitations? I’m hearing so many different things, and I’m not 100% sure how long I should wait.

Thanks ☺️

Generally I think about 8 weeks (2 months) is good. If you have a lot of out of town guests you could do earlier. We sent ours about 11 weeks out.

It’s usually around 6-8 weeks, but also think about when you need rsvps back for a final count and how many people are coming from out of town and have to arrange travel. Some caterers I talked to didn’t need a final count until a week before, but some wanted it 30 days before with the final payment. In that case, if you send them out 6 weeks before you have a major time crunch to get them back and track down responses.

For a late August wedding I would send them in mid-late June, about 2 months out.

I sent ours out in June for our August wedding. I think it was 10 weeks before the wedding and the RSVP date was 5 weeks before the wedding since our florist needed a table count 4 weeks before the wedding and our venue needed a headcount for catering/chairs 2 weeks before the wedding.

I sent our save the dates out 10 months in advance, then our invites out a little less than 3 months. I was a little ahead of schedule, but we have a lot of out of state guests & we need a final count 1 month out.

I sent mine last week for my mid-July wedding. We sent STDs out in January - those included a tentative schedule as well as venue info. Our caterer/venue doesn't need a headcount till end of June, so that factored in to the sorta late schedule.
