Invitations

With the new social era, is anyone just leaving invites up to facebook and other social media forums?

I think it depends on the type of wedding vibe you are going for. I could see fb being used for a super casual wedding. Of the two weddings I attended this year one was through a fb invite. It was a super casual wedding. No catering was provided it was potluck. However, it is possible it is more common then I am thinking. I personally would not use fb because I wanted elegant invites with matching rsvps.

I’ve noticed older people really prefer paper. We did paper invites and a wedding website. We asl have the option for people to rsvp on the website or send the card back. We thought the website would be easier but we have gotten mostly rsvp cards back.

We are doing pretty casual. The reception is taking place at a campground and it's going to be a potluck kind of food when you want to eat deal. Not everyone is going to be invited to the actual ceremony as we want it to be an intimate gathering. So doing the website wouldnt work as I dont want people getting confused by the invites

Absolutely not. Maybe a house party or backyard bbq, not a wedding invitation. That’s opening yourself up to a world of trouble.

I would definitely think it was a joke if I got a wedding invite via Facebook. Engagement or bachelorette party, fine. But to me it just wouldn’t seem right for a wedding. You can get cheap invitations to mail out anywhere online. Just skip all the extra reception cards and put the rsvp info on the back of the invitation.

A lot of people do evites and other websites instead of social media.

I think it's kinda tacky. It's not a 4th of july, halloween, or birthday party. A wedding usually warrants at least some level of formality.

I rarely use FB (maybe IG?) but honestly any invite I got that way I would assume was a joke.

If youre having a smaller wedding and don’t want to waste paper I think you’d be better off calling all off your guests and giving them a verbal invite so they don’t think you’re kidding

No... unless you're going for extremely casual... send something physical.
