Invitations

I am just having a church ceremony and then we decided we are going to do a small dinner at a local restaurant. We sent out text back in July saying we decided we’re only doing a ceremony but now we decided to do the dinner ..some people already RSVPed on our website but my question is do you think we should send out real invitations like in the mail or just text?? the wedding is October 23 so really soon and it’s also a very casual wedding

Date twins! I’d say it depends on how many people and if any of those people aren’t as tech savvy calling everyone to verify attendance would be another way to go. At this point (7 weeks from Friday!) and with all that is going on with USPS mail delays, physical mail might not be a good idea right now.

You could even just do electronic invitations via email

It's really up to you. Some people will forget or feel you don't particularly care who shows up if you send text only invites instead of paper. Traditionally save the dates were sent via word of mouth (phone, in person) but a paper invite was still sent regardless of the formality. So they could be waiting for that to arrive.

I would either mail or do evite invitations. I think it's a little more formal with a casual tone.

Could you do an evite through email? Kind of a mixture of the two?

I am going to go against the grain here and say that since you texted them all to say that there wasn't going to be a dinner that it would be fine to text them and let them know that you have changed your mind.

I agree with Bo, if they were all okay with a text the first time I don't see anything wrong with texting them again.

Paperless Post flyers - they're a little nicer than text, but they are designed to be sent out as texts.

Random idea, you could make a Facebook event and invite people, and put in the description what you were going to do. That’s what I did for my rehearsal dinner.
