Invitations

Karen, on September 19, 2019 at 12:22 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 9
Has anybody done their own invitations? It just occurred to me to try and do it myself but I wouldn't know where to start. Any advice?

Check out canva! Its an app or you can do it on the computer. They have soo many designs. Then you could print them at office max, staples or local print shop. You could even have them printed online at like vista print- they allow you to upload your own designs.
Making your own is a good idea. You would just need to design invite, rsvp card, info card and then buy your own envelopes. Hope that helps!

We used CVS photo for invitations and it was super easy and cheap! All we had to do was pick a template and insert our names and info. They printed them in the store and we were able to pick them up same day and they come with envelopes too. You could try CVS, Walgreens, Shutterfly, or Zazzle. We have also used Zazzle for wedding signage.

I did mine on Zazzle. We had a beach wedding so it wasn’t super fancy so I found something on there that I liked.

I designed my own on Vistaprint (they have a completely blank template), but, they printed them, not me.

I would start with Etsy and Pinterest. You can get some great ideas and pick the elements you like from them to create your very own design. I ended up using CorelDraw to make them and had them printed at Staples for cheap!

Michaels sells kits with the different size cards and matching envelopes with pretty patterns. You just have to come up with the wording for each and pop then in your printer, and maybe tie the bows.

I made my fiance and I's STD by hand. We did a movie ticket style. I bought card stock off of Amazon along with envelope labels. I got the design off of picmonkey and customized it. Then I printed them 6 to a sheet at work for free (with permission 🤣). But I had to use my works paper slicer to slice each one individually by hand Assembly line style. I also bought cheap pink colored envelopes and business cards magnets from Amazon. I stuck the magnets on the back of the tickets so folks could keep it on their refrigerator. All in all it was extremely time consuming but fun and worth it. It probably saved us at least $500 since I had 200 to make!
