Invitations

Tasha, on February 29, 2020 at 8:53 AM Posted in Planning 0 6
I signed up with The Knot for my wedding website. I planned my wedding in a short period of time and was unable to get addresses for all 150 of my guests. So to save time and money I wanted to send the link to the website via text to my invitees. Is that ok?

Sending a website link isn’t inviting someone to your wedding. You need some kind of invitation.

Do you have their email addresses? You could use paperless post to send an invite with your wedding website linked. I agree that you need some kind of invitation, but it doesn’t have to be physical.

You could also just text them asking for their mailing address (and hand address their invites if it’s too late to have the stationer address then)! I had to do this for so many people and it worked out fine.

If you’re having an extremely casual event, I suppose that would be fine, but it would be much too casual for anything more formal than a backyard BBQ style wedding.

I was missing a few address and I just texted or reached out on social media to anyone I needed to and asked them for their address so I could mail out their invitations. There is something special about receiving an invitation in the mail that goes a little deeper than just getting a text with a web-link.
