Invitations!

Mikaela, on January 11, 2020 at 5:43 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 11
So I guess my question is, when sending the invitations I am wanting to buy an address stamp. However my issue is so I get one that has our soon to be married name or just our first names?

I got one with our first names on it so we can still use it after for other things. I will be changing my last name but not until after we are are married. It weird me out when people refer to themselves as their soon to be husband or wife's last name when that's not their name yet.

I just ordered mine with our first names. I'll be obnoxious and buy a Mr & Mrs Zhang afterwards so I can save that extra special feeling for when it's official. 😁

I would do first names. I think it’s odd to use a name that’s not yours.

I’ve seen people use “Future Mr. & Mrs. ...” if you wanted something other than first names! You could also use just the address and not include names for the return address.

I did my save the dates on Basic Invite and they will print both your address and the guest address on for no additional fee. They had our current first and last names on them. Since it was all digital if I want to do something different for the invites this summer it's easy

For invitations, use your maiden name. For thank you letters, use your married name. That’s the traditional etiquetteSmiley smile

I didn’t even use a name....just our address since we live together.
