Invitations with online rsvp

Merline, on November 17, 2019 at 11:28 PM Posted in Planning 2 13
Anyone doing invitations with online RSVP? If so, can you share what your invitation look like? Did you do one card with your wedding website or invitation with separate RSVP cards? FH and I are a little behind. We wanted to send invitations out before Thanksgiving, but looks like we will push it back to the first/second week of December. Our RSVP deadline will be January 25th. This will give guest 6 to 8 weeks to RSVP and give us a little over a week to track those who did not RSVP on time. I sent out save the dates, so all of my out of town guest are aware. We have a few from NJ, one from CA, and one person who is overseas; everyone else is local or less than 4 hours away.

    I mailed our invitations with a smaller card that had our wedding website URL and a requested RSVP deadline.

    We're doing an invitation main card with a pocket that has an information card with our wedding website. We do not check our mail frequently enough for us to do the paper rsvps lol.

    Invitations with online rsvp 1 These are our invitations; we had a separate rsvp information card with the website and a password for just the rsvp page (so that random people can’t crash our wedding) Smiley smile

    Daughter did all her RSVPs through the wedding website. They had a small card (I think roughly business card sized) that matched her invitiations, that she put on top of the invitation so when the guest pulled the invite out of the envelope, the card was very obvious. It said something like: For additional information and to RSVP by December 25, please visit: website address. It worked perfectly; by the RSVP date, there were only 3 households (10 people) they had to follow up with. Also, her wedding was Jan. 19, and the invitations went out Thanksgiving week, with the RSVP on Christmas (about 3.5 weeks before the wedding date), so I think you're still in good shape for February 22. As long as they are out in mid-December, your guests will have plenty of time -- 8 weeks prior really does work quite well! (And, don't let people freak you out about sending them "with the holiday mail/during the holidays," daughter's went out right in the middle of that time period and she had no issues. Sending stuff out early doesn't mean guests will respond early; they either won't know their schedule or procrastinate because it seems like a long way off. You could even send yours right after Christmas, when people potentially have less going on, and it will give them something to look forward to after the holidays!) Good luck!

    We put the url on the invitation. Probably not the best look, but I honestly had no idea about any of this until I came to WW. I would have done an insert if I had it to do all over again.

    Thank you so much. I took your advise on the separate cards.

    Thanks. That's another reason we are going with online RSVP.

    That's a great idea of putting the small cards on top when stuffing the envelopes.

    I did too. Now I'm still creeping because my bonus son will be getting married in a few weeks and I want to have ideas for them too.

    We haven't ordered invitations yet since we're still 10 months out, but we're doing online-only RSVPs as well. We're planning to include the RSVP logistics on a details card. It'll include the reception details and then say, "For further details and to RSVP, please visit our wedding website at [URL]. The favor of your reply is requested no later than [date]."

    We set up our wedding website to do only online RSVPs, so I got on VistaPrint and made 100 basic "business cards" that said:

    "Please RSVP by {Date}

    {Wedding Website URL}

    For Assistance with the Website

    Call Jenny at {Phone Number}"

    The business cards have tons of templates and colors to choose from, and I found some that perfectly match my invites. The great part was that those only cost me $15, compared to the almost $90 that Shutterfly wanted for their RSVP card that matched my invites from them!
