Invitations to photographer/coordinator?

Tracy, on September 4, 2018 at 12:14 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 14

I have our coordinator and photographer on our guest list, mostly because I need to count them for meals. My question is this... did/do you all send them an actual copy of the invite, or just bring a blank invitation suite along on the day of for photos, etc....?

I didn't send invites to vendors. I just asked their meal preference via email (the way I'd been communicating with them regularly anyway) and I plan to have a copy of the invitation available when my photographer comes to do the detail shots.

I didn’t send any vendors an invitation. You are already paying them, so I wouldn’t worry about paying for additional invitations .

plus, they already know about the wedding and don’t need to rsvp 😉

They already have an invitation. They call it a contract. To-may-to, to-mah-to.

I sent my photographer an invite only because she requested it so she could take photos prior to the wedding.

I sent our coordinator a save the date and we also plan to send an invitation as well because she likes to keep them to remember the couples she worked with!

Otherwise, we plan to bring an invitation for photos and videography with us the day of.

No, they don't get invites. Just bring the suite for the pictures. Usually they are included in a separate count unless they are getting the exact same meal.

They don't need to get an invitation - they aren't a guest and they already know the date and time. But definitely bring the invitation the day of so the photographer can take pictures and don't forget a nice hanger for your dress for when he photographs that too.

Yeah, I understand they don't "need" them, just wondering if there are people who send them...kind of like cc'ing these key vendors Smiley smile

The cost isn't an issue for me, just whether it is something one shouldn't do as a rule of etiquette or something.

So normally I would say no, but my planner and photographer are friends first and vendors second, so they got an STD, and I plan to send them an invite.

I’m sending my photographer an invite since he’s also a friend. If he were not also a friend I would not send him one.

They aren't really "guests" they are vendors. Don't include them in your "guest count" as you will end up likely paying more. My caterer includes 5 vendor meals with the package, and I have the option to purchase more at a lesser price than guest meals. They also don't need a chair for the ceremony, or to be included in the bar package.

We’re going to send the STD & invite to our coordinator, but we’re just giving the invite to the photographer the day of.

I wouldn’t send them traditional invites. I think you can ask their meal choice and such via whichever mode of communication you have been using. I will probably email my vendors.
