Invitations to immediate family

Kayla, on June 21, 2018 at 12:38 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 18

I have a possibly dumb question. Do I send a wedding invitation to our parents? They're like intimately involved in planning the wedding, and know when and where all the things are, and are obviously invited. Is it necessary to send them an invitation?

I guess it's not necessary, but I will because my mom would love to keep it. Also we will probably use that one for the photographer to take photos of.

I did order a few extras for them to keep if they want and for pictures if we decided to do that, I just wasn’t sure if it was necessary to actually mail it to them. I could just hand it to them lol

Was about to say the same thing. Yes send them one so they can have a keepsake.

We are sending them to everyone, including parents. Our parents want one to keep too, so we are sending them one!

I guess you don't have to send it through the mail, you could save a stamp and give it to them in person.

I handed them to my parents! It would have seemed weird to me to pay for postage and send it through the mail just to go to my parents who I see regularly m

We'll be giving them to our parents so they can have them as keepsakes.

I'm probably going to have extra so if she wants one she can one but I'm not sending one formally

We handed them to our parents as well. I knew for sure that my mother and his mother would want a copy as a keepsake but we didn't mail them formally (to save on postage)

My dad owns a print shop and will be printing the invitations/STDs so I'm going to leave that up to his discretion haha. He wouldn't address one to himself but take one home to keep as PP mentioned. They're also hosting the wedding so it wouldn't make much sense for them to get one in the mail.

I see my mom fairly often (couple times a week lol) but mailed her the STD and will mail the invitation. She loved getting it in the mail (and it was nice to know when people were receiving them)

I'm sending one to my in-laws and my mom; when our save the dates made it to them they both called me crying so I know they'll definitely want the invitations too lol. My mom already asked me for one in the mail and one to frame so I'm glad I ordered extras!

I'm mailing them one. My mom will want one as a keepsake and lives out of state. My stepmom probably will too. And my dad and I have a long time running joke about needing a written invitation for anything and everything. FH's dad lives next door, but I'm mailing his too. If a couple bucks for the extra postage busts my budget, then I have bigger problems.

I am sending my parents one for them to keep, plus they live in a different state from me.

I went a little overboard. I mailed one to my mom and step dad, I mailed one separately to each of my fh's kids even though they are 7 and 8 and I had mailed one to their mom and step dad. my bestfriend (bridesmaid) got a separate one than her mom even though they love in the same house. My mom actually brought them to the post office for me because I was so busy at work and asked if she should just take hers and I was like nope its got a stamp its going in the mail! I also did order a ton extra though because I have a fear of running out of things.
