Invitations - Rounded vs Square Corners

Same, on November 6, 2018 at 4:18 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

Aaaaaand go! and did you do it on all pieces (registry card, rsvp, details, etc.) or just the invite, why or why not?

I'm also thinking 5x7 for invite size.

I personally liked the square invitations better than rounded edges, especially on the particular invites I chose.

I think this is 100% preference and there is no wrong or right way on it.

Whichever one you choose they should all be the same.

To be honest i didn't care about the corners. I said ""oo round looks cute", then saw it was a small upcharge. I will say i upgraded to round corners on my save the dates since they were 50% off. Then i realized nobody gives a damn about the corners anyway! Eventually they will end up in the trash so i decided to go with the regular square shape. Same with RSVP card. I didn't have a need for those other cards.

Mine were engraved invites with rounded corners and a gold gilded edge! I personally felt the rounded corners gave it a little more modern look but it’s a personal preference!

I haven't ordered yet and originally went all out. I'm still going a little crazy....but I combined the Reception & Directions card into a details card. Saved me $100 to go that route!
So in the pocket I'll have the invite, RSVP/envelope, details, and lodging cards with a cute belly band to go around.
Sometimes I roll my eyes at myself because I'm being kind of a princess about the invites and chose a nice luxury velvet paper with square corners. It will cost us probably $400 for 55 invites but shoot....I'm only planning on getting married once! I want it to be nice!

I chose rounded corners because I liked how it looked better than the square. It looked more "finished." I recommend inserts because it keeps the invitation free from clutter. Btw, there is no "registry card" - nothing about your registry should ever go with your invitations. You can include a wedding website and have your registry info there but don't put anything on the invitation or include an insert with your invitation about your registry. Sometimes stores will give you little registry cards but those are for shower invitations, not wedding invitations.

They all look so pretty! My thing with the rounded is our design is top and bottom... so I can't decide which looks better...

It's a mix of personal preference, and design style. We went with rounded, but I think it suits our design best.

For the particular style you've shown I would do squared corners.

I have to say this but you’re literally the onot person who will care about your invites ((as i was the only one to notice the little details/how i stacked the invite/RSVP/details card on my own invites)

when you get stuck on the little details, think about what you remembered from someone else’s wedding/invites. Probably not the stamp, how it was addressed, the way the corners looked or how it was stacked inside the envelope.

That being said- I’m a believer in the invite/RSVP/details card matching.

I got married in August and literally cannot remember if my invited had square or rounded corners lol it’s one of those details you shouldn’t fret about because no one will notice

It's totally up to you and your FS how you want your invitations to look!
I prefer square edges for my invitation design. We're going with paper that has a shimmer finish. So I had to figure out which upcharge I cared about the most, edges or paper quality!
I do agree with others, majority of your guests are going to throw them away.

I think it is just personal preference. I like the square look so that is what I used for my invites (and what i use for Christmas cards and other things I send out).
