Invitations ? - Pearl Shimmer Paper

I have a question regarding invitations. I would like to use the pearl shimmer paper for my wedding invitations. I am trying to find the correct envelope that I should use. Do I use pearl shimmer envelopes or white envelopes? I know the shimmer envelopes will cost more, but more so, I am worried about the ink drying/smudging on the pearl envelopes. I guess what I am trying to find out, is it OK to NOT use the shimmer envelopes and just use regular white envelopes. Advice, thoughts?!?

It is your wedding, do what you want!! But as far as the ink drying on the shimmer, I think if you got the right type,of ink it would work. ( prob nothing gel)

We used the pearl shimmer envelopes and had a stamp for our return address label. Luckily we had a lot of extra because it did smudge a little bit but once it's dry as long as it's not touched on the ink you're good to go. Didn't have any problems with an ink pen though. I opted for the pearl shimmer because it's more eye catching and formal. In the mail, so many of us get so many white envelopes that aren't filled with good news. I wanted to switch it up a bit.
