Invitations for celebration after we get married just ourselves??

Can you postpone the reception until after the wedding? It seems odd to celebrate something that hasn't happened yet. If anything, I would probably call it an engagement party or maybe a send-off party.

I kind of have to agree with Caytlyn. I understand circumstances are difficult now, but having a wedding reception before the wedding happens is a little odd to me. At this time, I would also be cautious in considering whether or not international travel will be allowed in August. I would definitely consider a back up plan. If all you want is invitation wording, something along the lines of "please join us in celebrating our upcoming marriage." Maybe another option is to get married as part of this celebration and doing a symbolic ceremony in Punta Cana as part of your honeymoon?

Please join us for a celebration of our marriage for dinner, drinks and dancing. The couple will be married privately. List time and date and place etc.
