Invitations For a Venue Without an Address

PaleoPrincess, on December 13, 2015 at 5:51 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 12

Hello! I've been looking at invitations (prematurely, of course), and I realized that my ceremony location is a park, which doesn't have an official address! The venue is easy enough to find with a google search, but I don't want to create work for my guests.

Should I include an extra directions card? Can I include directions on a reception card? Can I just put directions on the wedding website? What's best?

Thank you!

I have a venue without a formal address because it's in the park. Google maps will not lead them to the particular area of the park. I will include a directions card so guests will know where to go coming from 2 main roads that are on the east and west. There are vendors on etsy that can make a "pretty" directions card that you can buy in PDF.

Definitely include an additional directions card. Happy planning!

I am in the same boat. I will be including a direction card with a little map. GPS is not always close in my area.

I would print a "directions" card with an address they can use to find it with a GPS, where parking is and how to get to your location in the park.

Don't most parks have a park office? If you actually google your park, often an address will come up in my experience.

I am having a wedding at a park but there is still an address.

I would include a directions card and put the directions on the website.

If it's a national park or state park most likely they will have an office and address of some sort. Town parks not so much.

@PaleoPrincess ~ I like Angel's suggestion! Even if your park had an official address, you'll want to direct your guests to the specific area of the park where they have to be. That's not always so clear! (I've been a guest at a park wedding where there weren't specific directions... My date and I ended up wandering around looking for any sign of a wedding: tent, sign ... it took a while haha).

Definitely include an extra card, and possibly even make note that there is not an official address, in case people are confused. Definitely make sure to direct them to the right part of your location (maybe have someone try out your directions even).

Directions, balloons, signs, maps. And make SURE all your vendors get the same information as your guests do!!

I would put some kind of address like "Off of 123 Road" or whatever it is, and then include directions on a separate card.

I am actually in the same situation! My wedding is going to be in a public garden. So on our "Details" insert, it is listed as "On the corner of Maynard and 4th Street." But the next line under that says for more details to visit our wedding web site. I have a page set up with specific instructions from the church to the garden for anyone who's from out of town and may not know the area. Smiley smile

Also, is the park right next to anything that they can google?? Our garden is right next to a YWCA, and across the street from an episcopal church. I also listed those as GPS addresses they could use.
